The Dakota County Agricultural Society, Inc. (a.k.a. Dakota County Fair) is a private non-profit organization that owns and manages the Dakota County Fairgrounds and the Dakota City Heritage Village in Farmington, Minnesota. The Society’s main purpose is to plan and implement the annual Dakota County Fair as well as multiple other special events that occur year around.
The Society is looking for a qualified candidate that is enthusiastic and has excellent customer relations’ skills. This position is part-time. The person in this position must be able to plan and support multiple tasks that relate to the activities and communications of both the Society and the Dakota City Heritage Village. Assist with administration and implementation of committees, board meetings, and special events. Consistently update and maintain databases, records, social media and website pages. Prepare and coordinate mailings and e-mails for staff, board members and volunteers.
Candidates should be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and Outlook. Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines are as important as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
