Department L - Art Show PDF Print E-mail




ENTRY DAY: Wednesday, August 4, 2010.
Please bring your pre-registered items to the fairgrounds on this day between 8am and 8pm.

      RULES: 
Superintendent: Linda Baker      ALL HANGING ART (Class 1-28) MUST HAVE WIRE FOR HANGING!  We are not responsible for damage due to falling.  Reasonable care will be taken of all exhibits, but we are not liable for anything lost, stolen or damaged.
    1.  Entries must be the work of the exhibitor. 
Pre-registration is due by Monday, August 2, 2010 listing all exhibits intended to be entered.    2.  Entries must be original (no kits). 
    3.  No prints of original work. 
ENTRY DAY:    4.  Entries must be titled.  Title with exhibitor's name should be on back of exhibit. 
WEDNESDAY, August 4, 2010 - 8:00am-8:00pm    5.  Only work done in the past two years will be accepted. 
    6.  All entries will be judged and ribbons awarded when merited. 
Building will be open for public viewing at 10:00am on Monday, August 9, 2010.    7.  One entry will be accepted in each lot per exhibitor. 
    8.  "Not otherwise listed" lot includes ONLY entries that do not qualify for any other lot. 
    9.  Exhibitors can only enter in one Art Show department (L1-L5). 
    10.  Entries must fit the lot description.  We reserve the right to determine the proper lot description. 
    11.  Articles which have previously won a premium are not eligible. 
    12.  All exhibits should be brought to the Art Show Building near the front entrance to the Dakota County Fairgrounds for entering. 
    13.  No entry may be removed until 7:00pm on Sunday, August 15, 2010  Building will close at 9:00pm.

Department L5 -Art Show -  Advanced or Professional: is a person who earns a living in the art or Photography field (i.e. Commercial artist, commercial photography, graphic designer, or shows in an Art Gallery.)  


PREMIUMS

  • Champion:$15.00 award in Fine Arts, Sculpture, Photography, Ceramics, Clay Work, China Painting, Plaster Work and Rosemaling.  Also in the same Advanced Classes.
  • Reserve Champion:$8.00 award in Fine Arts, Sculpture, Photography, Ceramics, Clay Work, China Painting, Plaster Work and Rosemaling.  Also in the same Advanced Classes.
  • Award of Excellence ribbons awarded to outstanding exhibits.
  • Departments L1 - L5: 1st - $6.00; $2nd - $5.00; 3rd - $4.00, 4th - $3.00, 5th - Ribbon

Standard: Prints must be a minimum of 8"x10" excluding mat & frame. Super Prints: 16"x20" and over. All exhibits must be framed and provided with wire for hanging. If not properly prepared, they will not be accepted.
